Sam Curran who was currently in UAE and playing for Chennai Super Kings has been ruled out from the reminder of IPL 2021 matches as well. He has been replaced by his elder brother Tom Curran as announcement made by England and Wales cricket board. Whereas left arm fast bowler Reece Topley has been added as a travelling reserve.
Sam Curran hasn’t had a great IPL season as he only managed to accumulate 56 runs and claimed 9 wickets in as many matches for CSK. On the other hand Tom Curran who is representing Delhi Capitals in IPL 2021 but hasn’t cemented his place as yet as he only featured twice this season scoring 21 runs in only innings and picking up 1 wicket.
It is also pertinent to note that England cricket team is already coming into T20 World cup without Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer who are two of their premier players and have played pivotal role in England’s 50 over world cup Triumphant journey in 2019.
