ICC Under 19 World Cup 2024 Live Streaming & Telecast TV Channel List

ICC Under19 World Cup 2022 will take place in South Africa from 17th January, 2022 till 09th February, 2022. This will be 13th edition of U19 Cricket World Cup and its second time in U19 World Cup history that South Africa is hosting this tournament after hosting once earlier in 1998.

The Asia region which also has two divisions will see two qualifiers from Bhutan, Hong Kong, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore and Thailand in Division 2 join Malaysia, Nepal and UAE nine in the Asia Qualifier to be hosted in the United Arab Emirates with the top team qualifying for the West Indies.

The top team from the remaining qualifiers East-Asia Pacific, Europe and Americas will make up the men’s U19 World Cup line-up.

History of U19 Cricket World Cups

First edition of U19 World Cup took place in Australia in 1988 and it was named as Youth World Cup instead of U19 World Cup. It took International Cricket Council another ten years in arranging second edition of U19 world cup in South Africa. Since then so far 12 editions of U19 World Cups took place till date. Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka hosted U19 world cup twice, whereas Malaysia and UAE hosted the event once since its inception.

Winners of ICC U19 Cricket World Cups

Australia won the inaugural edition of ICC U19 World Cup in 1988 and won the tournament twice again in 2002 and 2010 and taking its tournaments tally to 3 which is second most after India who won the ICC U19 World Cup four times (2000, 2008, 2012 & 2018) and is also the defending champion in current edition of ICC Under 19 World Cup.

Pakistan won the ICC U19 World Cup twice in 2004 & 2006 and in the process Pakistan became the only team in tournaments history to defend its title successfully in 2006. England, South Africa and West Indies are the other teams to have won the ICC U19 World Cups.
