Coronavirus: England vs Sri Lanka Test Series Postponed

As per the latest news received from England and Wales Cricket Board, ECB has postponed their tour of Sri Lanka and have asked English players to come to UK> The decision have taken after consultation with Sri Lankan Cricket Board. The decision was taken due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The novel Coronavirus has now hurt the whole world and situation around the globe is worsening with every passing day.


England cricket team is currently in Sri Lanka and taking part in one of the practice games. The England tour of Sri Lanka was scheduled to start from 19th March when the visitors took on the host Sri Lanka in Galle if the tour was not postponed.

As per the statement from ECB the physical and mental wellbeing of our players and support staff is first priority and they want their players to back home safe and sound as soon as possible.

IPL 2020 already postponed till 15th April, 2020 and many English players taking part in PSL 2020 in Pakistan already decided to go back to England because of novel Coronavirus covid-19.

New dates for England tour of Sri Lanka will be announced later after consultation between the two cricket boards.
